EVAC’s Road Running Series 2016

As mentioned in eNews and elsewhere, EVAC is assembling a Road Running Series for 2016 - despite the fact that we are still in need of someone to take on the role of Road Running Secretary.  The proposed events are similar to the recent successful format using :

EVAC will also continue the (postal) Marathon Championship (so that you can enter any registered marathon).  And finally, if we can get support and assistance etc, we would dearly like to get the EVAC Road Relays off the ground again for inclusion in the calendar for 2016.  Any volunteers?

Road Running Championships for 2015 - Postal Marathon

The Postal Marathon winners have been announced.  Well done and many thanks to all who entered.  Full results in due course but you can read who were the “Top Three” at the tail of the AGM minutes.

Fancy the EVAC Club Place in London Marathon 2016? - Lucky member decided

Despite fewer club places being available for the London Marathon in 2016, EVAC does have one place to give away to a hopeful runner.  The draw to select the lucky winner took place at an EVAC Committee meeting on 15 December and the member that gets the place at London 2016 is Sophie Wilkinson-Hargate of Nene Valley Harriers.  Sophie will be contacted by email later this week to be invited to take up the place.  Good luck Sophie and remember to write a short piece for the eNews about the experience.

EVAC’s Place in London Marathon 2015

EVAC, as a member of UK Athletics has a place for one of its members in the London Marathon.  At a ballot undertaken by Tom Salway and supervised by Peter Duhig the lucky winner was selected in December.  Able to gain a place for the run in 2015 is EVAC member Jeremy Navrady of Ryston Runners.  Jeremy will be in the MV45 class and whilst it hasn’t been confirmed, I think he gets a “Blue” start.  Jeremy completed the VLM in 3:51:05 finishing in 8,799 place, 1,314 place in age group.

BMAF Half Marathon 2013 - Lydd Half Marathon 10 March 2013

Five EVAC members took part in the Lydd Half Marathon which incorporated the BMAF Championship Half Marathon.  The race had 56 BMAF finishers and the EVAC five results were :
