EVAC T&F League - 2011                                       

There are three divisions in the EVAC T&F League - Central; Fenland; & Essex.  The league season seems to have flashed past this year and already the matches are over.

Final     Sun 11 Sept 2011  Bedford The Final at Bedford has been held and the results are published - Men,  Women Marshall Milton Keynes won the men’s events and Chelmsford won the women’s.  Full placings :

2011 Edition of Veteran Women’s National T&F Ranking book

Sally Gandee is in the process of finalising the 2011 edition for publication in early March 2011.  She is expecting this version to be larger and better value than ever because there are around 6,500 performances noted.  A copy can be obtained by sending a cheque for £3.50 (payable to Mrs S Gandee) together with an A5 SAE with “Large” stamp attached to :

EVAC Indoor Champs 2012                                       

These were held as part of an overall South of England Vets champs at Lee Valley on 19th Feb 2012. Results   

Vets Inter Area Match 2012

The Vets Inter Area Match will be held at Solihull on Sunday 9th September 2012.  EVAC n needs a Ladies Team Manager this year as Gaye Clarke will still be officiating at the Paralympics at that time.  Volunteers please contact Graeme Packman.

As a consequence, the Vets T&F League Final will now be held at MK on Sunday 23rd September - not as originally shown (which was 9th Sept).

EVAC is now preparing for the 2012 Track & Field League season and notes have already been issued to (existing) team managers which are copied below for the benefit of all EVAC members.  (Team Managers please follow this link to get a copy of the team application form to be submitted to the EVAC T&F Secretary – Graeme Packman together with the team entry fee.)

Team Managers

The application form for the 2012 season T&F competitions has been published on the EVAC website.  Please complete and return to me along with cheques asap.  Particularly could you complete which dates you could possibly host asap - this is even more critical than ever this coming year for the obvious reasons.
 
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE MATCH DATES ARE DIFFERENT TO NORMAL FOR 2012.   They will NOT be the first Wednesdays of the month as is usual.
 
After considerable debate around the committee the preference expressed was that given we clearly could not have a match in early August  but we still wanted to retain the four match format rather than lose a match (other than Essex Division).  Hence the first match is at the end of April and we will have matches in May, June and July.
 
We have rebalanced the Central and Fenland Divisions so that they are 6 teams each - Huntingdon and Cambridge joining last year's Fenland Division and we have had interest in joining expressed from two  further teams.  If they do join, they are still discussing at the moment, we will add one into each of these two divisions.  So there should be either 6 or 7 teams in both of these divisions.
 
For the Essex Division where we have only three clubs and only two teams in the Ladies contest - the view at the moment is to go with just three matches - each club hosting one.  These clubs to advise which of these four dates they wish to run with.
 
We will of course revisit this decision if we can get one or more extra teams into this division as we are actively seeking to do.
